Collaborations & Visiting Artists
Nancy Wagner
Window Watch series, 2007
Nancy Wagner's background in textiles (particularly weaving) continues
to serve as a cornerstone in her painted work. She constantly refers
back to the world of fabrics - grids, patterns, and textures - while
bringing together other disparate sources of inspiration (which include
Sienese painting, Persian miniatures, Aboriginal paintings, and a love
of doodling).
Her work communicates a sense of purity and mystery, infused with light
and depth constantly layered to achieve a gem-like quality.
This was Nancy's first experience with etching, and served as Ningyo Editions inaugural collaboration. Below is a sampling of her aquatints.
